Step by step toward school readiness

Even in kindergarten, children begin to develop motor, cognitive, language and emotional skills that make later learning easier. It’s worthwhile for parents to support their child’s school readiness in everyday life instead of relying solely on institutions. Even digital offerings are no substitute for sensory experiences in a playful daily life. The goal isn’t for children to already read, write, or do math before school starts, but to develop important foundations for learning through playful everyday experiences. Children gain knowledge and skills through conversation, play, and exploration in daily life. They engage with what’s happening around them. It’s easy to assume that children naturally pick up essential skills like language, number sense, or social behavior along the way. In reality, many children face challenges at the start of school and in the years that follow that call for intentional support. The environment plays a crucial role, as it strongly influences how children develop knowledge, skills, and values. As the most important caregivers, parents shape this daily life by creating opportunities for active experiences with people, animals, nature, and through counting games, memory activities, and shared conversations. Through these experiences, children build essential foundations for school readiness, including language and emotional skills, memory, concentration, logical thinking and an early understanding of numbers.

What to expect from the impulse week

The impulse week supports you in accompanying your child in their overall development and on their path to school readiness. You’ll receive five impulses, one for each day from Monday to Friday, with playful support activities or reflections to think about. The impulses with support activities are meant to be used on the respective day and can be repeated at any time later. They are suitable for children from around the age of 4, depending on their stage of development, possibly earlier or later. Other impulses help you stay more relaxed in demanding everyday situations with your child and bring more ease into family life.

How the impulse week works
Each impulse week begins on Monday and ends on Friday. You’ll receive the link to your impulse week by email ahead of time, so you can start on Monday. Take about ten minutes each day to explore the impulses with your child: playfully, calmly, and with joy instead of pressure. At the end of the week, I kindly ask you to take a moment to look back and share your thoughts with me: Did you try out the play ideas with your child? Did you enjoy your time together? What especially got you thinking? I’m happy to have you on board.

Cost of the impulse week: 13 US dollars or 12 euros
The participation fee is 13 US dollars. For bank transfers within the Eurozone, the participation fee is 12 euros. After the week is over, you’ll receive a message with the payment details for a bank transfer or PayPal. If you pay via PayPal, the amount will be automatically converted into your local currency. No invoice will be issued. Thank you for valuing the time and effort that goes into this.
